The 30th June! I think this must have been the hottest day of the Summer! David and Kate could not have chosen a better day for a fabulous wedding in a marquee in a field looking towards the Chiltern Hills.  The gentle breeze across the field kept the guests perfectly cool as the sun blazed down with out a cloud in the sky all day.

David and his groomsmen had lunch and a pint in a local pub while bridal preparations were undergo at the house.  So many hugs, laughter and smiles with the men as so many of them had not seen each other in ages or travelled from overseas to be apart of David’s special day.  David and Kate got married at St Marys’s in Uffington under a beautiful ring of flowers hanging from the ceiling of the church.  It was so pretty! Hazel Averil had done a stunning job with all the flowers. The church was refreshingly light, airy, bright, warm and full of fragrance. After the service David and Kate left to a shower of confetti and got into a beautiful Gumdrop Car (Vintage Austin) for all those unfamiliar with the childrens books.

The Champagne, Elderflower, and Pimms flowed as guests enjoyed the drinks reception.  They were kept cool but the breeze that swept across the fields while we made the most of the wonderful car and used it as great backdrop for the bridesmaids and ushers photos.  Speeches were hilarious and the marquee erupted in laughter as stories of teenage and university years were recounted.  The guests were then fed an incredible meal by Lamb at Buckland, and danced the night away to the always entertaining 29fingers.  This band never fails to entertain and keep the guests dancing.  The evening was so beautifully warm that guest sat for hours happily relaxing and enjoying the warm summer evening.  We had a fabulous summer this year – thank you 2018
