We have just had The Wedding Industries Awards 2020 which my husband and I went to and raised a glass of bubbles to all the amazing wedding suppliers and congratulated the winners. Although this year was not a winning year for me, I still felt so thrilled to be a Regional Finalist and be in the same room as so many talented people. Entering The Wedding Industries Awards is always a challenge as it causes you to really evaluate your past year, think deep about your approach, and challenges you to ask and think critically about your business model. Through a series of questions it draws out the reasons why we love our businesses, and what drives us forward while causing us to think about what we can do better, and why we do what we do. I have spent many hours staring at the list of questions, fingers frozen to the keyboard while my mind races through the many aspects and factors or running a small business, but also why and what makes my wedding photography so unique and different to others. I have concluded that the only reason why we keep doing what we are doing, and why we pour so much of our hearts, time, effort, hours in front of the computer, and miss endless Summer Saturdays is because we all absolutely LOVE what we do. I LOVE photographing weddings and being involved with a couples special day. For me I do not think there is any other form of Photography that challenges, stretches and excites you all in one day more than a wedding. I can not explain the feeling of when you nail and evening shot, capture the tears rolling down cheeks of loved ones, and the overflowing joy and emotions guest and family have for the couple. I see it as a pure priviledge being able to photograph a wedding and create images that couples will treasure for a life time.
Every year I am inspired to go further, challenge myself, learn more skills and better my wedding photography. Below are just a few of the images that I entered to TWIA 2020, and only some of the incredible weddings and opportunities I had to captured this year. I can not wait for 2020 to see what it brings me, and to see what wonderful possibilities I can grab through bettering my photography.
Lastly a Massive thank you to all the my 2019 couples for you incredibly wonderful weddings, but also your beautiful words of praise and encouragement as you voted for me. With out all your votes I would not have become a Regional Finalist – So a Huge Thank you to you all.
