Best moments of Twenty Eighteen

2018 the Year of Expresso Martinis – It is now January which gives me a little space to breathe and look back on all the wonderful weddings and couples i have met over the past year.  This post is really a tribute to all of you, as with out you all I would not be able to do the work I love and feel alive while doing.  So a big thank you to so all my amazing 2018 couples and suppliers.  The Weddings would not be the amazing events that they are with out so many talented and inspirational suppliers working so hard to make every couples day perfect.  It really has been a privilege to work along side so many of the best in their industry.

I have travelled from one end of the UK to the other.  Leaving family holidays half way through, flying back home and then back out again, but every time Saturday approaches a little flurry of excitement runs through me and I cant wait to get going again. The reason being is every wedding is so full of surprise and creativity that constantly amazed at the thought and care that goes into each day.  I have been surprised with Alpacas, Aston Martins, Elvis, Mexican Singers, Harry Potter, Punting, balloons in cars, Boat trips down the Thames, a Pony and Trap, Gladiator inflatable challenges, Fireworks, and Sparklers to name just a few that have given me so many great photo opportunities, and not forgetting the much loved FLOSS! performed by every 5-12 year old!

Weddings have a wonderful and natural way of pushing our creativity and eye in totally unexpected ways with so much going on around us causing me to be quick to capture and think on my toes. I am always driven by the love and desire to do the best job I possibly can for each couple.  So if this means interrupting them on the dance floor because i noticed the most amazing sunset on their wedding night, or tapping them on the shoulder as they put their last mouthful of pudding in because the sun is just going down and creating the most beautiful light, then i will push my self to do so despite the desire in me to be as unobtrusive as possible.  After all it is my job to notice, be inspired and creative in order to produce images that the couple go “Wow” at.

Please take a moment to see some of the special moments of 2018.  This selection may not be full of the most picture perfect bridal shots, but they are some of the images that I love, make me smile, remind me of wonderful moments, and drive me forward with huge excitement for 2019.

After all weddings are fun, colourful, vibrant and full of emotion…………..prepare to SMILE!

Lovely Words

As a bride I personally felt more comfortable in the presence of a female photographer and when we met Alice at a wedding fair, she was far less showy than other photographers and took the time to get to know us. I respected her work and found her price to be more competitive than some of the other photographers we looked at. She also seemed very enthusiastic about her career and genuinely excited to be photographing our wedding. She even sent us a Christmas card in the run up which was a really nice touch!
